Northeast Sports Information

Northeast Mississippi Community College’s sports information department welcomes all media interest of its tradition-rich intercollegiate athletic programs. Northeast will make every effort to facilitate coverage of the Tigers and Lady Tigers by both national and local outlets. Every effort will be made to respond to each respective request in a timely manner. Inquiries received after normal business hours (8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m.-Noon Friday) will be handled the following business day.

Overview 

The sports information department at Northeast Mississippi Community College handles the coverage and promotion of 10 intercollegiate athletic programs, including baseball, cheerleading, football, men’s basketball, men's golf, men's tennis, softball, women’s basketball, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

The office is responsible for all athletic publications, media relations pertaining to each sport, historical record-keeping for all sports, other promotional activities and maintaining the institution’s athletic webpage (www.nemccathletics.com), which was selected in 2015 as the top sports site among the Magnolia State's 15 community and junior colleges by the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM).

Interviews

All interviews with Northeast Mississippi Community College student-athletes and coaches should be coordinated through the sports information department with 24-to-48 hours advance notice. Home or cell phone numbers for players or coaches will not be released to reporters under any circumstance.

Broadcasts

The official television home of all Northeast Mississippi Community College athletic programs is NEMCCTV. Those wishing to watch the Tigers and Lady Tigers may visit www.NEMCCTV.com on their computer, cell phone or tablet devices. Airtime for most televised events is between 15-to-30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for the pregame show hosted by “The Voices of the Tigers” Jody Presley and Carter Smith.

Select Northeast broadcasts will also be simulcast on the radio by WSKK "The Shark" on frequency 102.3 FM out of Ripley. Northeast athletics can be heard by more than 200,000 people across portions of northeast Mississippi and southwest Tennessee on "The Shark."

Other radio or television stations wishing to broadcast during contests on the Northeast campus should contact the sports information department with at least one week advance notice in order to preserve a space on press row. 

Credentials

Online, print, radio or television outlets wishing to cover sporting events at Northeast Mississippi Community College must contact the sports information office in order to apply for a credential. This credential grants the bearer access to the pressbox at Tiger Stadium or The Plex or press row inside Bonner Arnold Coliseum. It also allows sideline access for photographers and on-field or on-court privileges for reporters to complete postgame interviews with coaches and student-athletes.

An issued credential must be displayed at all times in order for working media to be granted complimentary entrance into any Northeast athletic contest. Northeast reserves the right to revoke any credential if the terms or conditions for use are breached.
