RIDDLE SCORES GAME HIGH 22 POINTS IN LOSS TO LADY LIONS; TIGERS FALL HARD TO THE LIONS IN THE NIGHTCAP

Scooba, Miss. –  Antionette Riddle of Tupelo scored a game high 22 points on Monday night at East Mississippi Community College but it wasn't enough for the Lady Tigers who fell to the Lady Lions 64-55.

Riddle's effort was kindled by the Lady Tigers' struggle from the floor as a team.  Northeast was only able to hit on 7-of-23 (30-percent) from the floor in the first half, while the second half proved to be much of the same with the Lady Tigers only improving by 10 percent hitting on 11-of-27 from the floor.

East Mississippi's Lady Lions led at the break 30-22 and never looked back with the help of their top performer Jakera Mitchell, who scored 20 points for the Lady Lions along with teammate Savannah Kimmons who added 14. EMCC's Lady Lions moved to 6-14 overall and 4-5 in the MACJC's North Division with the victory, while the Lady Tigers dropped to 11-8, 6-3, respectively and still sit at the number two spot in the division – just in front of Northwest Mississippi Community College (15-5, 6-3).

In the night cap, Coach David Robbins' team got off to a slow start and quickly fell behind against the Lions, who got off to a hot start and led at intermission 42-15.

Jarkevious Bradley of EMCC scored 34 points, hitting on 7-of-9 from behind the arc, while Northeast's top performers Acie Vance and Tyler Brunson only combined for a total of 16 points for the Tigers in their efforts.

With the 77-44 loss, Northeast dropped to 8-11 overall and 3-6 in the north and will have to win their next three divisional games in order to still have a chance to make a run at the playoffs.  The Lions improved to 14-6 overall and 7-2 in the north with the win on Monday night.

Next up for Northeast will be Coahoma Community College on Thursday night at Bonner Arnold Coliseum starting at 5:30 p.m. for the ladies with the men set to follow.
