NORTHEAST SET TO TRAVEL TO CLARKSDALE TO FACE COAHOMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE ON TUESDAY NIGHT

BOONEVILLE, Miss. – Northeast Mississippi Community College's men and women's basketball teams will hit the road on Tuesday afternoon headed for Coahoma Community College for another north division match-up.

Northeast split games with East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) last Thursday night in Booneville, with the ladies taking game one 54-42, while the men fell in the nightcap 76-62 to the Lions.

With the win, Coach Brian Alexander's team moved to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in divisional play, while Coach David Robbins' unit dropped to 6-6 and 1-2, respectively.

Coahoma Community College's (CCC) squads both picked up wins in their last match up on the hardwood Saturday.  CCC's Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Bulldogs (Hinds) 68-62, and the Tigers won 70-58 over the Bulldogs (Hinds) to cap off their 2013 homecoming celebration.

However, both the Tigers and Lady Tigers of Northeast will look to spoil the post homecoming celebration tomorrow night in Clarksdale.

Coach Alexander will look for LaTonya Gadison (Rosedale) to continue to lead the way for the Lady Tigers.  Gadison has come on strong in the last few games and hit a game high 17 points in their win against the Lady Lions.

Coach Robbins top performer Acie Vance (Ripley) will try to lead the team back into the win column coming off a game high 21 points -- for the Tigers in the loss to EMCC.  Vance averages over 15 points per game (PPG) just ahead of teammate Tyler Brunson (Atlanta) who averages 14 PPG.

Tip time is set for 6:00 p.m. for the ladies contest and the men are set to follow.
