RIVALRY GAME TIPS OFF IN FULTON TOMORROW NIGHT

Booneville, Miss.,--Northeast Mississippi Community College's basketball teams will travel to Fulton tomorrow night to take on arch rival Itawamba Community College.

This will be the first North Division game for Northeast with both the Tigers and Lady Tigers entering into the match-up with an overall record of 3-3.  Itawamba will enter into the game with both teams sitting at 4-3 overall.

Northeast is fresh off a sweep against Meridian Community College on Monday night at Bonner Arnold Coliseum (BAC) while Itawamba dropped their twinbill to Shelton State Community College in Fulton on Monday night.

Coach Brian Alexander will once again look to freshmen Kay K. Tate and Angelia Allen to lead the Lady Tigers.  They set the pace in scoring for the Lady Tigers with 15 points per game.

Itawamba's top performers coming into Thursday night's match-up will be Ty-nita Baker, who leads ICC with 21 points per game and Ayanna Lynn who averages around 10 points per game for head coach Nanci Gray.

Last year coach Gray and company topped Coach Alexander's unit in both games by winning game one in Booneville 86-73, and again defeating the Lady Tigers in Fulton 87-67.

On the men's side, coach David Robbins will again be without their leading scorer Acie Vance who averages 15 points per game for the Tigers -- due to an injury. Newcomers Tyler Brunson and Kadorian Sullivan will be called upon to help lead the way along with sophomores Marcell Lucas and Tadarious Coburn.  Brunson averages 12 points per game, Sullivan eight, while Coburn and Lucas combine for 14 points per game for Robbins.

Itawamba's head coach Grant Pate will look to Deontaye Ewing and Johnathan McGee who both combine for an average of 25 points per game.

The Indians also got the best of Robbins' squad last season by defeating the Tigers at BAC 72-69 and again at the Davis Event Center 76-67.

Both games will be available for live audio broadcast at www.wnau1410.com starting with the Lady Tigers beginning at 6 p.m.
