NORTHEAST TO HOST NORTH DIVISION RIVAL EAST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE TOMORROW NIGHT IN BOONEVILLE

BOONEVILLE, Miss. – Northeast will host the East Mississippi Community College Lions and Lady Lions tomorrow night at Bonner Arnold Coliseum to open up north division play for the first time in the new year.

Coach Brian Alexander and the Lady Tigers will tip off first against the Lady Lions who will travel to Booneville with an overall record of 2-10 and 0-1 in the north.  Alexander and company post and overall record of 5-6, 1-1 respectively, and are 4-1 at home while the Lady Lions are 0-6 on the road.

Leading the charge for the Lady Tigers' offense will be top scorer Angelia Allen (Belmont), who averages 12.3 points per game (PPG).  Alexander will be without his other top performer in Kay K. Tate (Dyersburg, Tenn.) who is out for the season with knee injury. 

East Mississippi's women's squad is led by Takera Mitchell, who comes into the match-up averaging 10.8 PPG followed by Savannah Kimmons, who averages eight.

In game two of the double header, Coach David Robbins' team will look to their two top leading scores in sophomore Acie Vance of Ripley, and a sophomore transfer in Tyler Brunson of Atlanta, Ga.  Vance comes into Thursday night's game averaging 14.3 points per game, while Brunson has added 15.4 points per outing.

The Lions are led by Jarekious Bradley who averages 22.1 points per contest followed by teammate Jacolby Mobley's 16.6 PPG.

Northeast is 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the north while EMCC comes in at 8-4 and 1-0.

Tip time is set for 5:30 p.m. for the ladies contest and the men are set to follow.
