NORTHEAST HOOPS TEAMS BACK IN ACTION MONDAY IN BOONEVILLE

BOONEVILLE, Miss. – Northeast Mississippi Community College's men and women's basketball teams will be back in action at Bonner Arnold Coliseum on Monday night to face Jones County Junior College.

Back on November 12, Jones County Junior College got the sweep against Northeast in Ellisville by defeating the Lady Tigers 76-73 and outlasted the Tigers in overtime 75-66.

This will be Northeast's second game of the New Year and first home game of 2013.

In their first game back from the holiday break, Lady Tiger coach Brian Alexander's squad fell to the Meridian Community College Lady Eagles 69-55 and dropped to 5-6 overall on Monday night in Meridian. 

Coach David Robbins and company picked up a win in the nightcap 75-65 against the MCC Eagles to move to 6-5 overall.

Top performers going into the match-up with JCJC for the Lady Tigers is Angelia Allen, who checks in with a 12.3 points per game, and LaTonya Gadison who is averaging 10.9 points per outing.  Talisa Boyd leads the Lady Tigers in rebounds with 59 rebounds on the year while the Gadison is right behind her teammate with 52.

Alexander's squad is chalking up 75.9 points per game while the Lady Bobcats average 75.9 points per outing and are 6-4 overall.

On the men's side, Tyler Brunson leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding. Brunson averages 15.4 points per game while sophomore Acie Vance follows with 14.3 points per night. Sullivan makes three Tigers in double digits with a 10.9 points per game average.

Robbins unit averages about 62 points per game while the Bobcats average 77 points per outing and are 10-2 overall.
