Booneville, Miss. - Another very memorable campaign is in the books for Northeast Mississippi Community College's tradition-rich basketball programs.

Now as the Lady Tigers and Tigers transition into the offseason, both teams are looking for extra talent to bolster their rosters as they reload for the 2018-19 season.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to host an open tryout on Thursday, March 29 while the Tigers do the same just under two weeks later on Wednesday, April 10. Both sessions will take place inside legendary Bonner Arnold Coliseum.

Registration takes place at the entrance of the gymnasium and starts at 1 p.m. for the women and 3 p.m. for the men's assembly. Each tryout should begin approximately one hour later.

All entrants must bring an up-to-date physical and sign a release of liability form, which is available to download at this LINK. No entrance fee will be charged for either tryout.

Each participant is expected to bring their own equipment, which includes but is not limited to athletic apparel and tennis shoes. Basketballs sanctioned by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) will be provided at the gymnasium.

Players should expect a professional tryout format. Those in attendance have the chance to demonstrate their skills and showcase their capabilities at a variety of positions across the floor.

Athletes will be evaluated using a variety of drills that cover the basic fundamentals of dribbling, passing and shooting. A series of scrimmage contests are also on tap to put the abilities of each individual to the test in a competitive manner.

Members from Northeast's most recent squads, including the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division champion Lady Tigers plus the region semifinalist Tigers, are slated to assist with these auditions.

This tryout is only for prospective student-athletes that are graduating high school seniors and have not signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with another institution of higher learning.

Northeast's reputation for achieving greatness on the hardwood is unparalleled in the Magnolia State. The Lady Tigers boast a NJCAA national championship, three NJCAA Region 23 crowns and 10 MACJC state titles.

The Tigers have added to their legacy as well over the last several years and now have eight regional crowns, six MACJC state championships, eight NJCAA National Tournament appearances and 17 NJCAA All-Americans.
