WESSON, Miss. - Northeast Mississippi Community College's inaugural road trip of the 2019 football season also happens to be its farthest journey from home of the entire campaign.
The Tigers make the 250-plus mile trek to Copiah-Lincoln Community College on Thursday, September 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at H.L. Stone Stadium.
It is the first of two straight road games for Northeast. The Tigers open Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) North Division play next week at Coahoma Community College.

This is the 25th all-time meeting between Northeast and the Wolves, who are both garnering attention early in the season. Co-Lin is ranked No. 13 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll while the Tigers continue to receive votes.
Northeast has competed against the Wolves fewer times than any member of the MACJC. Co-Lin is winners of five-in-a-row against the Tigers, including the most recent contest played in Wesson on August 29, 2013.

Northeast head coach Greg Davis has preached to his young team, which includes 40 true freshmen that made their collegiate debuts against the Bears, this week during practice about maintaining a focused mentality.
"The biggest thing is where our kids lie right now psychologically," said Davis. "We just came back from a big overtime win. You've got that under your belt, but how well do you handle success? We're capable of playing big boy football. The bottom line is we've got to come out and play fast."
The Tigers' defense was exceptional versus Southwest. Northeast limited the Bears' option based offense to just 172 total yards, which was the third best performance of the week in the Magnolia State.
Saltillo's Jamarcus Smith led the way for the Tigers with 13 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Terry Joiner of Noxubee County High School also recorded double-digit takedowns.
Lineman Cedric Hillsman of Fort Valley, Ga., was solid with seven stops, 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack. Tony Washington from Horn Lake topped Northeast's defensive backs with nine tackles, including eight solo takedowns.
Athens, Ga., product Jack Mangel had a 64.5-percent success rate on his passing attempts and accumulated 158 yards during his initial appearance at quarterback for the Tigers.
Northwest Rankin High School alumni Carson Banks and Montel Gladney had seven and six receptions, respectively, to pace Northeast's wideouts. Peach County (Ga.) High School's Alex Henton added five catches from his slot at tight end.
Louisville's Kevon Jackson had a team-best 15 carries to begin the season, but Thrasher High School graduate Shawn Dalton Weatherbee scored the first two touchdowns of the campaign on the ground for the Tigers.
The Wolves rely on a pair of Southeastern Conference (SEC) caliber athletes on the offensive side of the pigskin in University of Kentucky transfer quarterback Danny Clark and Mississippi State University commitment Malik Heath at wide receiver.
