Tony Finch serves as the vice president of public information at Northeast Mississippi Community College.

A Northeast alumnus, Finch joined the college staff in September of 1988 as assistant public information officer. 

His responsibilities over the years have included handling all sports information duties and co-sponsoring the now-defunct student publications The Torch (yearbook) and The Beacon (newspaper). 

He served as state adviser for the Mississippi Community and Junior College Press Association from 1996-99.

The Saltillo resident was elected as an honorary member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, which is the official honor society of the two-year college.

Finch took over the position vacated by Barbara Shackelford, who served in that role from 1987 until her retirement in 2006.

A 1983 graduate of Booneville High School, Finch attended Northeast and earned a Bachelor’s degree in communication from Mississippi State University in 1987.

Finch and his wife Dana have two children, Emily and Jackson.
